Window Climber v.1.2 - Updated game play and ads experiment

After 4 years since Window Climber was brought to life the game finally received some love!

4 years ago I created my first and only game - Window Climber. It's was a simple iOS platformer with endless gameplay, no ads, no marketing and as result no love. Even though it was created with love and heart - you still couldn't feel it when you were suffering after yet another fall and Game Over screen. The game was hard. It was ruthless. It still is.

New Gameplay

Endless levels approach was a laziness-based decision. While I'm not particularly lazy, creating fixed levels based game was too much for me back then as I wasn't sure if it was worth it. So I decided to keep it simple and adjust later on. 

Fixed levels is much more fun. Honestly. Climbing windows became engaging. You have the goal. You want new difficulties. You want to beat your record. You can save time by spending less time on windows. You are invested. I'm invested. It can't remember last I had so much joy just playing a game. Of course Easy and Hard difficulties isn't a challenge for me, but Extreme - requires the best from me. And I love it! 

Now with ads

The first money I made from my own project. That's correct - I never made a penny from my own project. I never wanted to. I always thought that I can make enough money from my day job and never worry about investing some of my income into my personal projects. But the hard truth is - if you don't make money from your projects, you lose motivation working on them eventually. Money are important, however you put it.

Subreddit Icon On A Post v2.0

Hey there redditor, (I wasn't actually expected someone to read this blog :) )

I made some improvements to your favorite extension so now icons don't look as crappy as they did before. Hope you will like it!

New in version 2.0:

 - icons look neater 

 - icons size increased

 - navigate to subreddit by clicking on the icon

 - in case if subreddit doesn't have icon - subreddit name will appear on the icon place

 - "loading icon .." text was added on the time when icon is still loading

Sometimes it is hard to focus on the stuff you need when you explore front page of reddit as there could be a lot of different subreddits with absolutely different information. That's why I created simple chrome extension that adds subreddit icon on a post. As simple as that:

Translation Reminder: Helps you to learn new words

Translation Reminder is an extension designed to help you learn new words.

This extension gives you ability to select any text on the page and define it for future using. You can either use Bing translator or specify definition manually. After translation is specified you just press Enter and thereafter selected text will be highlighted and whenever it's met in other pages it will be highlighted as well.

You might find it helpful if you learn new language or new subject. When you have a lot of new words it is hard to memorize all of them and keep up learning. 
 Translation Reminder can help you with it by highlighting the words you don't know and displaying definition of those words. Thereby you can always focus on the words you don't know and see how frequent hence important they are. 
 
 How to use:
 - select a word on the page holding the Ctrl key
 - in appearing for specify translation/definition or use Bing translator to get translation
 - press Enter
